After a thorough oral exam, we will give you a clear explanation of our findings. As you understand more about your current oral health, you’ll be better equipped to take care of your teeth in between visits. If necessary, we will recommend treatment options and help you determine the right one for you. This routine visit also involves a cleaning to remove all plaque and tartar from the surface of teeth and the gums. We recommend that you come in for this appointment once every six months for optimal oral health.

Oral Cancer Screening

The American Cancer Society says that only 29% of oral cancer cases are caught in the early stages. When we perform your oral exam, we’ll also take a couple of minutes to check for oral cancer. We visually inspect your mouth, neck, and throat for any of its telltale signs. Should we identify potentially cancerous areas, we can recommend seeing a physician for a biopsy for earlier diagnosis and treatment.
